Ecclesiastes 5:2 "Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few."
When we pray, most of the time it is a one way conversation. We talk and expect God to listen and answer us on cue, according to our timing.
" What God has to say to us is infinitely more important than what we have to say to him, yet we generally monopolize the conversation. God already knows everything we are telling him, yet we continue talking rather than allowing him to tell us things we do not know. Prayer is a two-way communication, but it is not communication between two equal parts." - Hearing God's Voiceby Henry and Richard Blackaby.
Understanding that God loves us more and knows us better than we know ourselves is impossible for us to understand. He knew us before we were born, He knows when we will laugh and when we will cry, there is NOTHING about us that He does not know - But He still wants a relationship with us. On a human level this is absurd, if He knows us that well then why does He want us to interact with Him? He could simply answer our hearts desires and cut out the middle man. God called us to a relationship with Him - it was the initial plan... look back at Adam and Eve - they walked and talked with God in the garden. When sin entered the world it distanced us from God, our understanding and perceptions changed but God's desire for a relationship never changed.
If your prayer's are not being answered or you feel like you are not being heard, maybe you just can't hear God over your own voice...
