Jeremiah 29:11-14 "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,' declares the Lord..."
I recently decided to make on a year long commitment, a covenant, to draw closer to God. The more I read the more heart broken I become. Taking a general look at all the religions, how many different ways do we try to put God in a box? We build boxes based on our own experiences, beliefs, theologies and doctrines, and worse yet we trust our senses and reason to explain God. We spend so much time trying to decide what God is and so little time trying to truly experience God. We are not called to "know of God", we are called into a relationship with Him. What do relationships require? A relationship requires communication and desire, so why keep God at such a distance? People say that God does not do this anymore, or he really does not need to do that... How do we know? Maybe we need to spend more time listening and less time talking? Look at Psalm 115:4-8, by limiting God what are we doing? Maybe people do not hear God or experience Him because the image of God that we have created has become our god!
