Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
We all find ourselves in situations that feel impossible and the weight of the world is on our shoulders. God calls us to come to him with our problems and to "take my yoke". When animals are yoked together they share the burden, who better to be yoked with than God? God is telling you that he will take care of your troubles and your worries. He is telling us we will find rest if we "take my yoke", in other words He will work as we find rest.
The next words are key to the verses, "for I am gentle and humble in heart". God is telling us that he will not use our failures or problems against us, He is here to comfort and heal. We should not be too prideful or feel embarrassed to turn everything over to God - our pride will hinder God's blessing on our lives.
God is waiting to take our burdens, after all He sent his Son to pay for them already. When we are broken in spirit, feel hopeless and alone, God is waiting for us to come to Him. He has joy we can not imagine, Love we can not understand, and blessing for us that are beyond our dreams, we only have to take his yoke.
