Matthew 14:29-30 " ...Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!'"
This story is fairly well known, but I encourage you to reread the passage (Matthew 14:22-33). As I was sitting in church today, before worship began, I was feeling sorry for myself. I was focusing on all the things going on in my life, just trying to figure out what I was going to do (Key word "I"). Then I started thinking of Peter. If he had only had faith, kept his eyes on Jesus, and ignored the chaos around him, he would have been fine.
As we go through our lives, how many times to we take our eyes off God and focus on the wind or the storms brewing around us. God will protect and provide for us, we just have to have faith and trust. Will it always be the way we want it, or the way we think He should? No, but He will get us through it. In the end we are usually much better than when the stress and worry started.
