Psalms 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
I normally use Proverbs to get my daily inspiration, though while reading Traveling Light, I had to choose this verse. How many times do we get caught up in the daily grind, wishing "If only..." Our nature is to be greedy and self serving, in today's society we are never satisfied. Once we get our "only" something else catches our eye. Soon we find ourselves basing our happiness and existence on things - something we were never designed to do. Thus begins our downward spiral to unhappiness, hopelessness, and depression.
How often are we called sheep in the Bible? Why sheep? Sheep are not intelligent, helpless, and pretty much defenseless - they are totally dependent on their shepherd to exist. God is referred to as our shepherd, and he will provide everything we need. Not everything we lust for, but what we need. Read the 23rd Psalm, dissect it, and hopefully it will change your outlook and refresh your spirit.
