Nothing is more liberating than forgiving others. As a Christian we are told to forgive in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." When Jesus died on the cross he died for everyone's sin, the debt has been paid. So when someone wrongs you, it has been covered by Jesus, the debt is owed to him, not you - forgiveness is the only option.
