1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..."
True love, many poems have been written about it and even more hearts have been broken seeking it. Why is it so hard to find? We must first understand that we are not capable of truly loving anything without first experiencing and accepting God's love. Only after we have learned of His love are we capable of truly loving one another.
Take the time to read these verses again, think of the people you love - do you love them with this type of Love? Pray daily that God heals your heart and transforms you so that you may love this way... the joy you will feel is beyond words. Think of how freeing it would be to love and be loved this way. No reminders of our past failures, treated with patience and kindness instead of anger and rudeness. Think of how it would feel to know that the people who love you will ALWAYS trust, hope, persevere, protect, and never fail...
That is the kind of love I want to give and have returned, it is only possible when we allow God to change our heart - that is where it all starts.
